1.1. Operating System

  • The Intra2net system uses its own RPM-based Linux distribution as an operating system. It has been specifically adapted and toughened for safety.

  • The Intra2net system requires stand-alone x86 hardware or a virtualized environment.

  • The Linux kernel is regularly updated. The currently used version can be found by clicking the link below.

  • 64-bit Linux is used. Multiple processors, cores and hyperthreading are used automatically (SMP and SMT).

  • The hard drive is divided into multiple partitions: system, log files, spool area, swap, rescue system and data (emails, backup, proxy cache). The journaling file system ext4 is used. This ensures data integrity even in the event of power failure.

  • Intra2net regularly releases updates (security updates and new functionality). The system downloads these cryptographically signed updates directly from Intra2net over the Internet.
